For over 25 years, Cumming and Co were involved in adapting and extending properties for people with disabilities. This work was carried out for private home owners, local authorities and housing associations in conjunction with community occupational therapists. Based on the skills and knowledge gained over many years, our practice now carries out Expert Witness accommodation needs reports on behalf of clients who may have a legal claim regarding their disability.

Allan Cumming is a Chartered Arbitrator, is on the panels for adjudication with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and on The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
Disability Access Audits
The 1995 Disability Discrimination Act requires that from 2004, all buildings should be fully accessible and for employers and visitors. Service providers such as shops, restaurants and offices need to make reasonable adjustments to overcome physical barriers which make access to their services difficult for people with disabilities.
